How Can You Be In Two Places At Once?

Are you more than one person?  Many people try to be and most of us act slightly differently in the various roles we play.  Each role is then subdivided into other roles.  Do you believe that if we take on too many roles we can burn out?  At what point should we say "Stop! I can only do so much."

But what if we can't stop?  What if so many people depend on us that we have to keep going and not expect to get a break?

It is a lot easier to look at someone else's life and say "You need to slow down."  Or.."Why don't you just get out of that commitment?"  It usually isn't that easy.  Recently I found myself in such a place.

Even though I still play a vital role in my children's and grandchildren's lives, there is little required of me now that they are grown.

The role of wife has its own requirements.  Usually this includes being cook, errand gopher, house cleaner, banker, bookkeeper, and CEO of the home in general.  My role is extended to include caregiver.  My husband was in a car accident that caused irreversible brain damage (that story here) and after twenty years with gradual but tremendous improvement, he was in another accident that set him back all those years - back to square one, only worse because he is 20 years older.

I am glad that I am here to be his caregiver but that role has another extension.  On my hubby's bad days, he can't run his business which is a retail outlet so it requires my physical presence.  I have not figured out how to be in two places at once, so my businesses as health coach and radio talk-show host suffers as well as my on-line presence.

It becomes a matter of what role takes priority on a particular day - business owner, store manager, health coach, wife, business bookkeeper, caregiver, blogger, or radio talk show host.

Although I have been unable to post the past ten days, try to imagine what a shock it was to find out that my blog was listed as one of the Top 21 blogs for YA Book Lovers.

I hope you will take a few minutes to check out all the amazing blogs that were listed on Mary-Jane Melrose's blog. She looked for blogs with unique content, nicely maintained and easy to navigate through.  She found Young Adult Blogs that you will find interesting visually and mentally.  (I'm number 13.)

There is so much I want to share with you, but regardless of what anyone may think, there are still only 24 hours in any given day.  I honestly do not think I could be any more organized than I already am,  yet those who are concerned about me burning out will often give their opinions and advice as to what I could do to ease the load.  Although this is appreciated, it is not necessarily practical.

I am writing this to THANK YOU for sticking with me when I cannot post regularly but I am following and commenting on as many of your posts as possible.

I have two exciting posts to share soon -- one is the update on those two little dogs many of you have asked about and the other is how thrilling it was to meet (in person) a wonderful author I met on line.

Have you ever found yourself in this place?  Were you able to pace yourself and forge ahead or ...? Any practical advice on how to be in two places at once?
