Five Things to do Every Day to Keep Stress Away

Stress
In our current climate it’s rarer to find someone who isn’t feeling stressed than it is to find someone who is.

Just about everyone you meet is working long hours, concerned about their finances, or struggling with a difficult relationship or personal issue. Whatever the issue, it’s not too much of a stretch to say that most people can benefit from making more of an effort to relieve stress throughout the day.

Whether you’re going through a particularly difficult time and need some extra positivity or are just trying to feel your best, listed below are five things you should be doing on a daily basis to relax and keep stress away.
The Problem with Stress
While occasional (or acute) stress is not a problem -- in fact, it’s healthy -- chronic stress wreaks havoc on just about every system in your body. Chronic stress contributes to a variety of health issues, including the following:

Feeling Good Every Day is Actually an Option

Do you enjoy downtime when you feel sick?  Miss work because of a cold or the flu?  Lack of energy?  Imagine what it is like to wake up every morning and feel good every SINGLE day?

My daughter told me a few years ago that she has zero memory of her mom ever being sick or tired.  I hadn't really thought about it but it is true.  Every day I feel great - I work hard, am rarely tired, eat what I like and never get sick.

As a health coach for the past 30 plus years, I have been helping people reach their health goals and build a strong immune system.  It is possible.  And not that difficult!

Do You Want Health for Your Time Tomorrow?

If Your Health Matters, What Are You Doing About It?

Does your health matter to you?  Do you take time for your health today so that you have health for your time tomorrow?   I believe that most of us do the best we can as well as educate ourselves in various health-related matters.

I started this journey when I was in my twenties and given two years to live.  That is far too young to hear the "C" word and told "Hysterectomy or death!"  Those were my choices and I didn't choose either one.

What I did choose was LIFE and SO CAN YOU!  When I made that choice and won that battle I also made the choice to help as many people as I could for the rest of my life. I am grateful that I have been able to do that as a certified health coach.

Do You Have Health for Your Time Tomorrow?

I live in a world of miracles.  Every.  Single. Day.  Do you have any idea what that feels like?

Now many of you will nod and agree that life, in itself, is a daily miracle.  But I am one of those fortunate people who gets to experience outstanding miracles on a regular basis.  I get to be the recipient of hugs and I mean, really big tight hugs....when I have been able to give someone hope who has lost hope.

I am a health coach.  I have been one for thirty-five years.  I am also a symptomologist.  A WHAT?  I assess a client's symptoms and determine what nutrients they are missing in their diet that is causing distress.  So what in the world does that mean?

Nothing Can Stop You - No Matter How Old You Are

Nothing can stop you - no matter how old you are

How many times have you awakened in the morning and wondered what happened with the past three, four, five, six or seven decades?  Or have you looked into the mirror and felt it was unfair that life passed you by without giving you a chance to pursue the career you always wanted?  As much as some people look forward to retirement, what if you don’t have the income to maintain the lifestyle you have grown accustomed to?  Then there is the backdoor threat of Alzheimer’s.  You may wonder how you are going to stay alert and focused when your days may only be filled with volunteer community work or gardening.  Is your only option being a Walmart greeter?

It is All a Matter of Roots

I'm not much of a gardener.  In fact, I know very little about gardening but I do know that it is wonderful therapy for many people.  I don't understand gardening, yet I have learned a valuable lesson from a tree.

Years ago, we lived on a large acreage and over the course of any summer, trees seemed to spring up out of nowhere.  It was as if they had some special magic like the seeds in the story, Jack and the Beanstalk.  In a matter of weeks, these alders would grow tall and if we didn't get rid of them, they would easily take over the road.

It was not difficult to eliminate them as they had a meager root system.  The tree could be several feet high with roots that were only a few inches deep.  If you leaned on them they would uproot.

Real Trees 'Know'

What I did not understand was why some trees took so long to grow and these grew so quickly. I asked an avid gardener friend and her response was, "Real trees know better than to go up until their roots have gone down.  Trees that last," she said, "have as many roots underground as they have branches above."

BAM!  That hit me hard.  It rang true when thinking about life and what matters.  I applied this concept when I share on optimum health.

What would you do if you found out you are being poisoned?

medication
What do you think it feels like to find out you have been conned or worse yet -poisoned?  Listed below are the first eight weeks in my series, World's Biggest Con Job. In this series, you will find answers to many of your questions about the vitamins you may be taking. If you don't have any questions, then it is time to ask some

Vitamins are supplements we take to make us feel better, look better and have a better sense of well being.  What most people do not realize is that they may be hurting themselves more than helping.  BUT, there are supplements available that are pure, unadulterated, unaltered and with LIVE enzymes to give you the most benefit.

In each one of the following articles, I explain what you need to look for when purchasing your supplements and not buy them because of the brand name or price. One of the largest vitamin companies on this planet (with a name that most people trust) is actually one of the worst.  They use the cheapest DEAD, synthetic ingredients possible to make the biggest buck.  They made a net profit of $48 BILLION last year.  That's NET!  Laughing all the way to the bank while the people taking their products are being lied to and even worse, getting sicker.  That article is in Week Eight below.

I am a registered symptomatologist and a certified health coach who has been steering people to optimum health for 35 years. I have cured myself of a wide variety of physical limitations ranging from chronic fatigue, rheumatoid arthritis, and uterine cancer. It doesn’t matter what you have to overcome specifically. It’s important to boost your immune system in order to heal current disease and prevent future disease.  A proactive attitude today will pay huge dividends tomorrow.

What Chance Do You Have of Surviving?

Your first line of defense against disease is NUTRITION - not medications!  Every time I see yet another television commercial promoting a drug, I get a little more nauseated by the lie that is being perpetrated on the general public.  This is especially disheartening when it involves our youth, a drug-induced generation.

food supplemnts

If it is true that no drug can replace nutrients, then why are we so quick to swallow a pill when we have a cold or flu? Why don't we use natural methods to curb allergies?  Why don't we use nutrition to ward off disease and yes, even find a cure?

As I have written in a series of articles on the World's Biggest Con Job, we are sold a lie by Big Pharma that drugs can heal and/or restore.  Between the lack of education we are offered and our own fears, we buy that lie......hook, line and sinker.

In the mid-1970s I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and given less than two years to live. I knew next to nothing about nutrition, but I knew that if I had a hysterectomy or if I died without having the surgery the specialist said I must have......then WHAT CHANCE DID I HAVE -- of living?  Or having a baby?

You Are Going to Die - Now What?

cancer
When we hear the word 'cancer' something happens to us. It may feel like we got kicked in the stomach or our heart skips a beat. We react in fear whenever someone we care about receives that diagnosis.

That happened to me decades ago.  The doctor told me that the only possibility I would have of living more than a year would be to have a total hysterectomy.  Although I was very sick and struggling with a lot of pain and discomfort, I knew in my heart that I was born to be a mom and that couldn't happen if I didn't have the working parts.

As a young woman who had zero knowledge about cancer and no idea what I could possibly do to win this battle, I told my doctor "No, I won't accept that.  I am going to walk in here pregnant one day."

At that point, the doctor got extremely angry and almost spit at me when he shouted, "Then, lady, go home.....suffer....and die!"

12 of the Best Persuasive Words to Use

Want to make an impact?  Choosing words carefully when you speak or write make people take notice and listen.

My brother is one of the greatest salesmen I have ever known and he is not in the 'selling' business.  He sells himself and consequently, people trust him.   He gave me this list of persuasive words that he compiled from his experiences in business over six decades.  His training comes from experience - tried and proven.

These are words we can use in conversations that trigger a positive response from the listener.  Try using them and see what a difference it makes when you input positive, rather than negative or passive words.

Discovery  implies something new as a detection, revelation or analysis.

Guarantee  gives assurance, certainty, or agreement that what you are saying is true.  Be careful not to overuse it, however.

Are You the Same Person You Were a Year Ago?

Past or future
Are you the same person you were a year ago?  Have your views or opinions changed?

There are often times in our lives when we feel like the world is crashing in around us and are overwhelmed with the drama in our lives.  There are other times when we may feel that life just couldn't get any better.  I have experienced both as many of you have as well.

Someone dear to me jokingly often said,  "One thing is certain: If things don't change they will stay the same."  But I think you will agree that that is not true.  Everything changes. People. Circumstances. Everything.  One thing that must remain constant in our lives is our focus and our positive attitude.  This is crucial.

My Cancer Diagnosis was the Best Thing that Ever Happened To Me

When the doctor said "You have two choices, hysterectomy or death,"  it made me angry.  I was only in my twenties and wanted children.  I certainly could not have them if I had the surgery or was DEAD!  Something inside of me rose up and I replied, "Doctor,  I will not accept that diagnosis.  I...WILL....WALK...IN...HERE...PREGNANT....ONE....DAY."

The doctor rose up from his chair and pointed his finger in my face, "Then, lady, GO HOME. SUFFER.  AND DIE!"

Motivated like never before, within three weeks my life took an abrupt turn and I discovered answers to healthy living. Fourteen years later I walked into his office.....pregnant.  As a certified health coach and symptomologist, I have spent the last four decades guiding people to optimum health -- including helping hundreds of women get pregnant when there was no hope.

Have you ever thought about what it would feel like to wake up feeling great every day?  To feel rested?  To feel healthy?  To feel energized?

What would you give to feel that way every single day?  Maybe you already do and if you do, you are one in a million.  Many people wake up tired, achy or just a bit 'off.'  They shuffle to the kitchen for their first cup to get them through the morning.

What would it be like to have an energy level greater than people half your age?  And that energy being true energy -- not from a cup of coffee or energy booster of some type.

Why is Alzheimer's a Commonly Seen Word in Health News?

One of the keywords we read in health news is the word "Alzheimers." Almost weekly, I receive an article regarding this debilitating and threatening disease that is affecting countless people no matter what their social standing or education level may be.

What concerns me is that I have yet to have an article come across my desk regarding a cure or preventative measures we can take. As a health coach, this is disturbing. The media is always quick to reveal anything negative and to instill in our minds that there is no cure.

However, there is a lot of information available on prevention of the disease and how to feed the brain proper nutrients and keep it stimulated in an effort to keep it healthy. I will share some of that research in this post.

World's Greatest Con Job - Does it Really Matter?

Do you care what is in your vitamins?  Do you think it matters? It matters enough that it could mean the difference between life and death.  I choose life -- what about you?

I know I would not be alive today if I had not done my research 40 years ago and switched to a safe brand.  I had been diagnosed with cancer and turned to nutrition for help.

This is week five of my series on how we are being conned by numerous vitamin and pharmaceutical companies that claim their products are the best; the safest.   Don't be easily fooled.  There are a few simple questions you can ask about your brand to determine if you are being conned.  This is the purpose of these posts.  I recommend you start with Week One to get the full picture.

Week One:  Are your vitamins synthetic, natural altered or natural unaltered?  Click here.

Week Two:  Does your brand produce vitamins with the life factor intact?  Or are they over processed and of little value?  Click here

Week Three:  Does the company produce any products on the Dirty Dozen list?  Click here.

Week Four:  The nitty-gritty on how your nutrients get into your bloodstream, where they can work for you.  Click here.

1.What is the difference between Kosher and Certified Organic and why should you care? Kosher requirements are far more stringent than Certified Organic.  Isn't your body worth the best?  Without getting technical about the differences, here are a couple basic reasons to use Kosher vitamins.

To Flash or Not to HOT Flash - That is the Question

Hot flashes.  Dry skin.  Night Sweats.  Insomnia.  Mood swings. Hair loss.  Memory loss.   It has been suggested that Baby Boomer's hot flashes are causing Global Warming!

Sound familiar?  There are many posts written about menopause. Most of them are humorous yet packed with information on how to survive the numerous symptoms and body changes.

I beg you not to roll your eyes at me but when I read and comment on these posts, I feel ostracized as if I am some kind of weirdo or liar.  I am told I am one of the "lucky" ones.  I am acutely aware of the list of symptoms that are common to menopausal women.  I often wondered why we don't find posts about women who have not had to deal with these negatives.  Do some women bypass them or could there be another reason?

World's Greatest Con Job - Week 4 - It Gets Scarier

Does it really matter how old or how young we are?  Shouldn't each of us be concerned about our health?  Don't we all want to live fuller, healthier lives?

This is week four of my series on how we are being conned by numerous vitamin and pharmaceutical companies that their products are the best; the safest.  There are a few simple questions you can ask about your brand to determine if you are being conned.  That is the purpose of these posts.

How do I Love You? A Grateful Husband's Letter

Babe:

I watch you and I wonder what I ever did to deserve you.  I wonder why you have never left me. I wonder....

When I met you, I wasn't too impressed.  You were beautiful but had far more electrical energy than I was used to - nor necessarily wanted to be around.  I wanted kids and you didn't seem the type; much more interested in your career.  Yet still...... I watched you.

We often double dated and I began to enjoy your company from afar. Although it shocked me, I soon realized I was liking you more - no, I was liking you a lot!

I'm a quiet guy who thinks seriously before speaking and usually has all possible scenarios figured out before approaching a challenging situation.  But I felt it was in the stars and as alien as it was to me, I knew what I had to do.
love at first sight, husband, marriage

It was a Tuesday afternoon.  You would be home from work around 5:30.  Knowing you would recognize my car; I parked down the street and walked to the back door of your house.  Was it because I wanted to escape in case I changed my mind?   For some reason, I wanted this to be a surprise.   I heard music inside and tried the doorknob. It was open.  Perky started barking but quickly settled onto my lap. What was only minutes felt like hours.  My hands were sweaty.  I was nervously tapping my foot to the music wondering if I was absolutely crazy for doing this.  What if you got angry?  Should I leave or should I go?

It was too late; I heard your car pull into the driveway.  You walked in with grocery bags in tow and uneasily said "Hi?"

That day was the beginning of something wonderful but also something that I could never have survived without you.  The full heart-warming story of Love at First Sight is here.

Later......

After almost half a century together, you have been and continue to be my tower of strength, my encourager, my support.

I convinced you to leave your roots, your home, your family and move 3,000 miles away so I could live by the ocean.  I loved the water and needed to be close to it.  I knew you would grow to love it as well.

When we found out we could never have children but were able to adopt our son, you were there to convince me we would survive his loss, one year later.  You stood behind the airport pillar, watching me with tears running down your cheeks as I handed our son to a stranger.  After loving our son for a full year, the mother who tossed him aside now wanted him back. We had no choice.  We had to let him go.  You stayed strong believing we would have another child to love.  That tear jerking story here.

What is the World's Greatest Con Job - #2 - Test your Vitamins

Is there a difference between types of vitamins?  Most definitely!  Is there a way to determine these differences?  Most definitely! The purpose of this series of posts is to bring some understanding to the choices you have when purchasing vitamins.

First of all, let's recap last week's post.  There are three types of vitamins:  synthetic, natural altered and natural unaltered.

This is the very basic part of deciding what vitamins to buy and there are many other factors that come into play.  Even if the average consumer knows of the three different types there are to choose from, how do you determine which is which?  If you have not read the first post please do so here. It explains the difference.
